A message from the ASNA President
It is with great pleasure that I can announce that following matched election promises from both the Coalition and Labor of a $1 million contribution to the resurfacing of the outdoor courts, we are on track to have new courts and amenity completed for the start of the 2023 season.
The commitments made by both the major political parties combined with $50,000 committed by ASNA, $250,000 committed by the NT Government and $380,000 committed by The Alice Springs Town Council will ensure a full refurbishment of the outdoor courts. This will include complete and extended resurfacing, improved drainage, new lighting and additional shade and seating. It will provide a facility appropriate for generations to come.
This initiative fulfils the 1st stage of ASNAs broader plan to progress the development of the Pat Gallagher netball facility with improved player amenity and patron parking and security.
We are aiming to have the new courts completed by the commencement of the 2023 season in keeping with the commitment of the ASTC.
We thank CLP candidate Damien Ryan, Labor candidate Marion Scrymgour, ASTC Mayor Matthew Patterson and the NT Government Sports Minister Kate Worden for their efforts in securing these commitments.
