Alice Springs Academy
The Alice Springs Academy is a development program for 12 – 14 year olds designed to identify talented players and is a progression pathway to the NT Netball Academy, underage representative teams and NTIS.
Selections - are based on ability, skills, fitness, potential & attitude.
Trainings - Successful applicants are required to attend weekly training and maintain a level of fitness for the duration of the program.
Netball Northern Territory Academy
The NNT Netball Academy program is a Netball Australia developed program and forms part of the Netball Northern Territory players’ pathway. The program is specifically aimed at players ranging between 11 to 13 years old (exceptions may apply). The program is designed to provide the highest quality training experience and is appropriate to the athletes’ physical, cognitive and social development levels.
Selections - The Netball NT selection committee will identify athletes at Selections and NT Link. Athletes may be identified from the NT School Sport Netball Team. The inclusion of athletes into the DADA program is at the discretion of the Netball NT selection committee.
Develop A Diamond Underage Program (DADUP)
The Develop a Diamond Underage Program forms part of the Netball Northern Territories athlete development pathway and provides coaching and performance enhancement services to identified athletes. This program is for athletes that have been in the NT Representative teams and is the next step up from NT DADA. The DADUP is endorsed by Netball Australia and employs resources from the Northern Territory Institute of Sport (NTIS) and Netball NT. The program is based on three core components:
- Technical and tactical development
- Physical development
- Athlete education and wellbeing
Selections - Athletes that have been identified at Nationals, and or been reserves for Territory Representative teams will be invited to participate in the Develop a Diamond Underage Program. The selection panel for identifying athletes will consist of NNT representatives, NTIS head coach and Netball Australia.
Training - Athletes are expected to train two – three times per week.
